Frequently asked questions
What are Culture Science Cards?
A practical tool to help teams have better conversations about how they work. The cards are designed to explore different behaviours, challenge assumptions, and help teams agree on what “good” looks like in their context.
How are these different from a diagnostic tool?
They’re not about analysing the past or scoring performance. They’re about helping teams define how they want to work going forward and agree on it together.
Is there a “right” way to use the cards?
No. There are more and less effective patterns of behaviour, but the aim is not to get the “right” answer—it’s to find the best answer for your team and situation.
Will this work in a resistant or disengaged team?
Absolutely, yes—and this is exactly why the cards were created.
Most resistance isn’t because people don’t care.
It’s because they’re tired of being told how they should behave, or sitting through conversations that feel imposed and disconnected from reality
These cards flip that.
Instead of telling people what “good” looks like, they invite teams to define it for themselves—based on their actual experience. That creates ownership, not compliance.
The structure gives the conversation a starting point.
But the value comes from people being heard, challenged, and involved in shaping the outcome.
Like any tool, it still depends on the quality of the conversation.
But when people feel part of it—resistance tends to drop, and engagement starts to lift.
